We’re proud to announce that the 2025 applications for the 2026 ALLG HSANZ Clinical Trials Fellowship Award are now open. This exciting initiative, developed in partnership with the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ), is a vital program to foster the next generation of blood cancer researchers.

The ALLG HSANZ Clinical Trials Fellowship is a unique opportunity for early career clinicians to advance their career in haematology through gaining valuable skills and networks to drive investigator-initiated clinical trials across blood cancers.

The inaugural 2025 ALLG Fellow, Dr Arina Martynchyk from Austin Health Haematology and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute in Melbourne, has commenced her Fellowship project titled “Hearing patient voices in blood cancer research: Patient Reported Outcome use, implementation and reporting in trials conducted by ALLG.” Dr Martynchyk’s study focuses on identifying the best patient-reported outcome measures to embed in ALLG clinical trials, aiming to enhance quality of life assessments for emerging treatments such as immunotherapies and CAR-T therapy.

Supporting the Future of Blood Cancer Research

Clinical trials are key to driving progress in treating blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. The ALLG HSANZ Clinical Trials Fellowship has been created to provide early-career researchers with a unique opportunity to build a career in clinical trials and translational research. With a funding package of $70,000 over 12 months on offer, the 2026 Fellowship Award provides experience working with ALLG’s cutting-edge research projects, all designed to deliver better outcomes for patients.

ALLG CEO, Delaine Smith, said, “Following on from the success of our inaugural 2025 Fellowship Award, ALLG is delighted to offer our second ALLG Clinical Trials Fellowship position to early career researchers.”
