The ALLG Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) has appointed Associate Proffessor Peter Mollee as the Chair Elect.

Peter, a SAC representative since 2012, currently Chairs the Myeloma Disease Group Committee, and co-chairs the High Grade Lymphoma Group. Peter is a member of the ALLG’s Finance and Audit Committee and the Member Relations Committee.

Peter Mollee practices as a consultant haematologist in clinical and laboratory haematology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is Associate Professor with the University of Queensland Medical School. Peter obtained a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology with a specialisation in Research Protocol Design and has a particular interest in the plasma cell dyscrasias, particularly AL amyloidosis. He heads the Myeloma Service as well as the Princess Alexandra Hospital Amyloidosis Centre which runs one of the few clinics in Australia dedicated exclusively to the care of patients with amyloidosis. He holds appointments with the Medical Scientific Advisory Group of Myeloma Australia.

As an active researcher Peter has lead Australian clinical trial research with the ALLG MM8 and ALLG MM13 trials. Peter is currently involved in mentoring fellow ALLG members with new clinical trials proposals in the area of amyloidosis and multiple myeloma.

Peter’s post as SAC Chair will commence after the November General Meeting.
