Professor Mark Hertzberg

Mark Hertzberg has been an active member of the ALLG for 27 years, previously serving as Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee and High Grade Lymphoma Group at the ALLG from 2010 to 2017.
During his involvement with the ALLG, Mark has led a number of key clinical trials for blood cancer patients across Australasia, overseeing the research direction and conduct of these trials.
Currently, Mark serves as the Head of Clinical Haematology at Prince of Wales Hospital and UNSW. He is also a former President of Haematology Society Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ), deputy chair of the RCPA Haematology Quality Assurance Program and a recent HSANZ Pitney Travelling Fellow. Previously, he was an NHMRC CJ Martin post-doctoral fellow with research interests in lymphoma, clinical trials and molecular monitoring of blood cancers.
In January 2022, Mark was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his contribution to the field of medicine and science of leukaemia, lymphoma and other blood disorders in Australia.
Mark is currently Chief Investigator of the ALLG HD10 clinical trial for Hodgkin lymphoma, a global collaboration led by the German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG).
